Nicholas Tse’s concert stage costs HK$20 million as tickets sell out in minutes

20th February 2025 – (Hong Kong) Hong Kong actor and musician Nicholas Tse has set a new benchmark in concert production, investing over HK$20 million in building an advanced stage for his highly anticipated “Evolution Nic Live” concerts. The three shows, scheduled for 24th–26th April at the Kai Tak Sports Park, mark Tse’s return to the Hong Kong stage after a 25-year hiatus.

Tickets for all three performances sold out in less than 30 minutes when released on 19 February, prompting fans to plead for additional dates. Despite an extra show being added due to overwhelming demand, scalpers quickly drove ticket prices to as high as HK$170,000, leading Tse to publicly urge fans not to purchase from unauthorised sellers.

Known for his meticulous attention to detail, Tse insisted on premium production standards, reportedly offering to forgo his performance fee to ensure the shows meet his exacting vision. The futuristic stage design, inspired by a spaceship concept, incorporates LED-lit staircases and immersive visuals, reflecting Tse’s ambition to deliver a world-class concert experience as a gesture of gratitude to his long-time supporters.

The concert’s enormous production costs and tight scheduling make adding further dates unlikely. Following Tse’s performances, the Kai Tak venue is set to host Taiwanese band Mayday in May and singer Jay Chou in June. Tse’s management company, Emperor Entertainment, expressed gratitude for the enthusiastic response and is exploring options to accommodate fans’ demand.

Tse acknowledged the rapid ticket sales on social media, thanking his audience and teasing the upcoming shows by raising four fingers to signify “See you in April.”
